Who Are We?

 

Charlton Columbias is a family owned farm. We breed and sell Columbia sheep as well as some crossbred sheep for market shows at our local county fair. We take pride in our healthy, grass-fed lamb and know that you will love everything these animals have to offer as much as we do!

 

Fun Facts:

  • Columbia sheep are a cross between Lincoln rams and Rambouillet ewes
  • Columbia sheep are great for producing wool, meat, and lambs. 
  • Rams average 225-300 pounds
  • Ewes average 150-225 pounds
  • Columbia sheep were bred to withstand the dry conditions of the western states 
  • Columbia sheep were originally developed and produced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1912
